Matariki is a day were people celebrate because of our Māori traditions and for our ancestries.People celebrate Matariki in allot of different ways ,like having a feast with family or going to Matariki festivals and much more.I celebrate Matariki with all my family coming together ,having a feast, and watching fire works late at night. Some people celebrate Matariki to acknowledge the dead and to release there spirits into stars ,and to be thankful to the gods for the harvest, to feast and to share the bounty of the harvest with family and friends. There are sevens stars of matariki and these stars are called Ururangi, Waipuna-ā-rangi, Waitā, Waitī, Matariki, Tupu-ā-rangi and Tupu-ā-nuku, Hiwa-i-te-rangi, and Pōhutukawa. These beautiful stars are daughters of Ranginui and Papatūānuku, there parents.Thats all i have to share about Matariki, Thank’s for reading 🙂
