Introduction

Pollution has become a really common and a serious problem in our world today. There is many different types of pollution that all cause different problems. Pollution is damaging our earth and there is ways us humans can stop it.

What is pollution?

Pollution is a harmful and poisonous thing that is bad for our air. The level of pollution in the air is rising. Pollution is when an amount of any substance is in the environment or the air faster than it can be safely stored.

Kinds of pollution –

Air Pollution – Air pollution happens because of the bad gases and stuff that are in the air. This is because dust, dirt and poisonous gases from the factories and more. To reduce this we can avoid buses and other transportation services. You can also recycle, this is a easy one to do all you need to do is put you rubbish in the recycle bin.
Water pollution – Water pollution is caused because humans like us dump unnecessary things in our ocean. Ways to try and prevent this is to plant native plants which can be better for our climate. You can also avoid plastic, as more than 8 tons of plastic gos into our ocean each year.

Due To Pollution-

Because of pollution our earth is slowly dying and lots of things can happen like lung cancer, heart diseases and asthma. It can be really bad for our breathing systems too. Which is why we have to try to reduce pollution.

Conclusion –

In conclusion pollution is very very bad for our air and environment, we need to try and reduce the level of pollution. In general there is loads of different types of pollution that are really bad for us.

Introduction-
Peter Jackson is a well known director mainly known for the movie, The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, but there is many interesting things about him.

His Early Life-
Peter Jackson normal life he loves sport and went to school. The only thing that wasn’t so normal is he started doing short movies at home when he was only 8! A bit more about him is he went to he went to Kāpiti college when he was 16 years old. His first movie was Bad Taste which he was a director in.

Hobbit Process-
He decided to make a movie based of the novel Hobbit made by JRR Tolkien. The process was really hard and they started making the movie in 2012, he really enjoyed making it. The movie only took 266 days. Even though he didn’t help with the book it took 2 and a half years. He made 3 movies using people from the movie Lord The Rings  since they were good actors and fit the characters they needed.

Facts-
He is a New Zealand director that is 62 years old. His favourite movie is King Kong, he also directed one of them as well. He made $6.5 billion off of movie making which makes him a billionaire. His culture is kiwi/ New Zealander.

Conclusion-

Peter Jackson loves sports and enjoyed attending school He remade the Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings  into a movie from a book, the Hobbit book got turned into a 3 part movie! He also started his career at the age of 8 and then slowly started , making his movies better, and better. Peter Jackson loved his job of m

Family Fun!

The giggles so loud,

In this very big crowd.

The light filled up the room,

It was as big as a broom.

The fence so long

Like a round of ping pong.

Her laugh was a squeak 

His glass had a leak.

The glass pulled itself down,

It was so very loud.

Boom! Crash! 

The glass went smash!

She was so hungry,

She could eat Harry!

They walked, which felt like a million hours,

Once they got there they felt they had powers.

They were one of a kind,

It stopped them from going blind.

Should year 7 – 8 perform at polyfest? This is a very undecided question. But in my opinion I think 100% yes! I think this because everyone should get a change to experience and perform at polyfest, it would also be good if you could practice performing before high school and if you experience it early it wouldn’t be as nerve wracking when you are older. If the year 7 and 8 get to perform it would be absolutely amazing!

The Night Sky

Its as dark as night,

the moon and stars were so very bright,

– Digital Art –

These past few weeks we have been learning about digital art. For this subject we have learnt about different art techniques and how to work digital apps.
When did it our teacher first explained what to do then off we went with our art.

I started off by opening the app Canva and choosing a background and pattern to customise my digital poster. Then we proceded to add various images of different birds, trees, flowers and landmarks. While doing this we had to resize to focus on 3D and prospectives. I had loads of fun well doing this! Once finished I did a few last touches and made sure to include everything. After that I showed my teacher and handed it in.

I loved doing digital art and I hope to do more. Here is my art.

My weekend at Whananaki was awesome!

It all started with a 3 hour trip. We stopped to grab some snacks and then carried on until we got there. “Are we nearly there yet?” I repeated the whole way. Finally we arrived, it was beautiful and I was so happy!  “Hi Lara!” I said excitedly. Because we were at her beach house.

After a while Scarlett and Ellee came, they came one after another.After that we relaxed and I went to sleep “me too!” Everyone said.

When we woke up we went on a 3k walk and when we got back we went on the biscuit since we were so hot after the walk. We did the same everyday.

That was my awesome experience at Whananaki!

 

My first few days in Kāhu with Miss Rowland have been pretty good but a little nerve racking, all the days so far have been really enjoyable.

We have done PE which was just a few fun games like noodle tag and lots more.

The hapori had a change to also apply for jobs, the ones I chose were, Resource room monitor, food tasic person and PTA ambassador I really would like to be in any of these.

We have also been making some lanterns for our Chinese new year celebration at the celebration we will be selling bubble tea and dumplings, yum! There will also be talks about camp.

So far this year has been great!
