Do you know what Te wiki o te reo maori is, well in English it’s Māori week and at school we celebrate it. We had daily patai stuck somewhere in the classroom, it changes every day and on Friday we put them all in the raffle for thoughs how to get it correct, then whoever gets picked out they get a prize.

We wrote about hangis, my family does it every Christmas. The first step is to dig the pit then get some volcanic. stones ,wood and light. The third step is to Prepare vegetables and meat and wrap to keep away  from the dirt. Place the food in the hangi and cover with wet cloths and sacks. Then put dirt on top, wait a few hours then eat. 

At lunch we could do Māori activities to celebrate, and a lot of people started talking Māori, and we did a lot of Māori activities during class.
