Botanical Gardens:
The Botanical gardens was a great experience because we learnt about new plants. And got to do heaps of fun activities. During our stroll around the Botanical Gardens we got to explore plants we haven’t seen before and learned about what it was like being a kaitiaki and taking care of the environment.
Tōtara Park
Tōtara Park was also a great experience because we found tutara’s and experienced a lot of walking. it drizzled a little, but we were able to survive. We heard the waterfalls flowing very smoothly and took away some ways of being a guardian of the earth.
Throughout those amazing trips of the Botanical gardens and Tōtara park I recon both of them we fantastic.
Experience from Tōtara Park
This morning the kāhu hapori went on a walk to Tōtara Park! Once we got there we sat down and did a quick roll call before we started our walk to make sure that everybody was there. Ten minutes into our walk we already started to feel our legs getting numb and thought it was a terrible idea coming here. But we kept going because we knew it would be way more fun if we continued.
We saw some incredible plants that we have never seen before, and heard the majestic water falls just flowing smoothly. We captured a Tuatara crawling under the plants and playing hide and seek with me and Eric. We faced some incredible challenges like trying not to slip and not getting our clothes dirty.
We also faced going up 100 stairs which was very tiring. The park was very quiet but the air was just so fresh. halfway through the walk it started to drizzle and we were getting a little wet, but we were fine. We got to the point where we started to give up, but were nearly there so we kept walking.
We stopped by a field because we were waiting for the others. While we were waiting we played catch with the ball until the others arrived we walked some more and took a quick look at the amazing view before we continued. As we continued the awesomeness added on as we saw more and more amazing plants!
Our walk was finally finished, so we had a quick seat because we were so exhausted. Miss Rowland did one last roll call and we headed back to school.
